Tend: Move & Recover
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026 · Applies to Tend 1.0 for iPhone
The short version. Tend has no account and no login. Your check-ins, body areas, feedback and Apple Health data stay on your iPhone and are never sent to us or anyone else.
The only outside service is RevenueCat, which loads prices and checks your purchases with Apple using an anonymous ID. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. Tend 1.0 contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and we never sell data.
Contents
1. Who we are
Tend is made by an independent developer, Pham Van Ngoan (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for your data under this policy. Contact: ngoanlearning@gmail.com.
2. Data that stays on your iPhone
To build your daily plan, Tend stores the following only on your device (in the app’s own storage, shared with Tend’s widgets through an app group on the same iPhone):
- Your preferences: goals, equipment, go-easy (protected) areas, reminder time, voice guidance setting.
- Daily check-ins: energy, focus areas you tap on the body map, time available, place.
- Plans, sessions, the changes you made with Adjust, and your feedback after a session (including moves you marked uncomfortable).
- Program progress (for example, which day of Desk-back reset you’re on).
- Reminders: if you turn them on, Tend schedules at most one local notification a day at your chosen time, on your iPhone. Nothing about reminders is sent to us or any service.
We have no server that receives this data, and we cannot see it. It is included in your iPhone backups (iCloud or computer) if you use them, under Apple’s terms. Voice guidance uses Apple’s on-device speech; Tend does not use the microphone or your location.
Camera coach (optional). If you turn on the camera coach during a session, Tend asks for camera access and uses Apple’s Vision framework on your iPhone to estimate body position. Frames are analysed in memory only: no photo or video is recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and the coach makes no network requests. You can turn it off at any time, or revoke camera access in iOS Settings; the rest of Tend works without it.
3. Apple Health
Apple Health is optional and requested only when you use a feature that needs it.
- Read (if you allow it): last night’s sleep and your resting heart rate (compared with your own recent days), used on your iPhone to suggest today’s plan.
- Write (only if you turn on “Save sessions to Apple Health”): your sessions as workouts and breathing sessions as mindful minutes.
Health data never leaves your iPhone through Tend. It is not sent to us or to any third party, not used for advertising, marketing or data mining, and not stored in iCloud by Tend. You can change access at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.
4. Data shared with service providers
Tend uses one service provider, which processes data on our behalf only for the purpose below. No other third party receives data from the app.
RevenueCat — purchases and subscriptions
RevenueCat is started when the app opens so it can show prices and know what you’ve bought. If you buy Tend Pro or a program, the purchase is made through Apple. RevenueCat checks the purchase with Apple so Tend can unlock what you paid for and restore it later, and gives us aggregate sales reports (for example, how many trials became subscriptions). We don’t use it to profile you. RevenueCat receives a random, anonymous app user ID; the purchase details Apple provides (product, price, currency, storefront, purchase and renewal dates, trial status); and basic device and app information (iOS version, app version, locale, IP address). It does not receive your name, email, payment card, check-ins, body areas, feedback or any Health data, and the anonymous ID is not linked to your identity. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Apple
Payments, refunds and subscription management are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
5. What we don’t do
- No analytics, usage tracking or push-notification service in Tend 1.0.
- No advertising, no advertising identifier (IDFA), no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, so Tend never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- No selling or sharing of personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- No medical diagnosis. Tend is a general wellness app and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
6. Retention and deletion
- On your iPhone: kept until you delete it. Settings › Delete all data erases your preferences, check-ins, sessions and feedback from the device and cancels scheduled reminders. Deleting the app also removes its on-device data.
- RevenueCat and Apple: purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide and restore your purchases and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Purchases stay with your Apple Account, so “Delete all data” doesn’t cancel a subscription; cancel it in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA/CPRA in California, or Vietnam’s Personal Data Protection law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the data about you in Tend lives on your iPhone, you can view and delete it yourself in the app. For the purchase record held by RevenueCat, email us and we’ll help; we’ll respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Legal bases (GDPR): performing our contract with you (delivering the app and purchases), and your consent (notifications and Apple Health, which you can withdraw in iOS Settings).
8. Children
Tend is rated 4+ because it contains no objectionable content, but it is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has made a purchase record we hold through RevenueCat, contact us and we’ll delete it.
9. International transfers and security
RevenueCat is based in the United States and may process data there. It uses standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for international transfers. Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). On your iPhone, Tend’s data is protected by iOS data protection when your device is locked with a passcode.
10. Changes
If we change what Tend collects (for example, if a future version adds optional analytics), we’ll update this page and the App Store privacy details before that version ships, change the date above, and ask for consent in the app where the law requires it.
